Students: Your Story Could Be Worth $10,000

Students across the United States and Canada are invited to enter the 2012 "What's Your Story" Internet Safety Contest

whats your story?

What's Your Story? is a user-generated video contest that empowers youth to be leaders in educating others about the safe and responsible use of the Internet. It is designed to give them a voice in the solution while showcasing a positive use of social media. In its third year, the contest is unique in that it requires participants to create a message for others and also spread that message to others online.

The contest asks anyone 13 and older to create and submit a video on one of the following:

  • Take action against bullying: How would you help a friend being bullied online?
  • Keep a good rep online: What?s the right way to share?
  • Be cell smart: How can someone new to cell phones use it wisely?

For parents, "What's Your Story" is a great way to engage kids about
using technology wisely.

For educators, "What's Your Story" is an effective curriculum enhancer
using student led, project-based learning to educate students about
important issues concerning the responsible use of technology.

The contest is co-sponsored by the International Bullying Prevention Association, the Family Online Safety Institute, SafeKids.com, WebWiseKids.org, and other organizations.

The Grand Prize is $10,000, and 6 Runner-up prizes of $1,000 each will
be awarded. For more information and deadlines please go to the What's Your Story website.
