Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Materials

The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program has two core components and several additional recommended materials.

For excellent results, it is very important that the program be implemented as written (with fidelity to program components and principles). Implementation should include the guidance and expertise of a certified Olweus trainer.

Bullying Questionnaire

The Olweus Bullying Questionnaire is an important planning tool before and after program implementation. The Olweus Bullying Questionnaire is administered to all students in grades 3-12 (if third-graders are proficient readers) before the program begins and at regular intervals (ideally each year) from then on.

The results of your questionnaires are compared to a national database. You will receive a standard report with narrative that interprets the results and graphs of key data for use in PowerPoint presentations. With this option you have an opportunity to purchase a trend report for an individual school or entire school district. Also included are new cyber-bullying questions, the option of a Spanish translation, and space for two multiple choice questions customized to your student population. For ease of use we have included a complete administration packet including a parent consent form in English and Spanish.

Schoolwide Guide
with CD-ROM and DVD

The Schoolwide Guide is used mainly by your school's Bullying Prevention Coordinating Committee, the group that is established to lead your building's schoolwide implementation.

Each member of the Bullying Prevention Coordinating Committee as well as other school leaders will benefit from a copy of the Schoolwide Guide.

• Get step-by-step information on each of the program components.
• Print practical resources such as handouts and templates from the Schoolwide Guide CD-ROM.
• Watch the Schoolwide Guide DVD for a program overview and information about how to use program components at all levels.

Teacher Guide
with CD-ROM and DVD

The Teacher's Guide, with accompanying DVD/CD-ROM, serves as the primary program implementation tool for teachers and other classroom support staff. It highlights the important role you will play both in the classroom and in schoolwide efforts in preventing and addressing bullying.

Supply each of your teachers and other classroom support staff with their primary implementation resource. At a minimum, it is recommended that one guide be provided for every three teachers or staff members.
